# Change the appearance

You can change how MedLibro looks. These choices are in **Settings**, under **Appearance**.

## Choose light or dark

1. Open **Settings** from your [account menu](/en/account#account-menu).
2. Select **Light**, **Dark** or **Automatic** in the **Mode** row.

**Automatic** follows the setting of your phone or computer, and changes with it. Until you choose, MedLibro is in **Light**.

MedLibro keeps the mode on this device only. So your phone can be dark and your computer light.

To switch fast, select the sun or the moon at the top of the side menu. You can also type *dark mode* or *light mode* in the [search box](/en/search). A fast switch replaces **Automatic**.

## Choose a colour theme

1. Open **Settings** from your [account menu](/en/account#account-menu).
2. Select **Ink**, **Blue**, **Rose**, **Violet** or **Teal** in the **Theme** row.

The app changes at once. Until you choose, MedLibro uses **Blue**. You can also type the name of a theme in the search box.

MedLibro keeps the theme on your account, so it follows you on all your devices. Each theme works in light and in dark.

A theme colours the main buttons, the links, the boxes that you tick and your **Correct answers** card. It also colours the books of your Notebook and the backs of your Memorix cards.

A theme does not change the colours of a correct or wrong answer, the highlighter or the paper of your notes.

## Choose the paper of your notes

1. Open **Settings** from your [account menu](/en/account#account-menu).
2. Select **Ruled paper** or **White background** in the **Choose the Notebook's style** row.
