# Change your email address

MedLibro sends a code to the new address, to show that this address is yours. Your address changes when MedLibro accepts the code. If you have not verified your first address yet, see [Correct a wrong address](/en/getting-started/verify-your-email#wrong-address).

## Change the address

1. Open **Profile** in the side menu.
2. Select **Your email** under **Edit**.
3. Type your **New email address**.
4. Select **Ask for the code**.
5. Find the email from MedLibro in the new mailbox.
6. Type the six digits under **Confirmation code**.

MedLibro checks the code after the sixth digit. You can also select **Save the email address**.

The window then closes. If your **Profile** page still shows the old address, refresh the page.

From now on, log in with the new address. Your username does not change.

## If the change does not work

- **The email address you entered is already in use. If you forgot your password, please reset it.** Another account uses this address, so choose another address.
- **The code you entered is wrong or has expired.** Check the digits, and use the newest email. The code is valid for one hour.
- **Too many tries for this code. Ask for a new one.** Select **Ask for the code** again.
- **A code has just been sent to you. Wait a minute before asking for another.** Look for the email that MedLibro already sent.
