# Create an account

You need an account to use MedLibro. The account is free. You can create it on a phone or on a computer.

## Fill in the form

1. Open [medlibro.co/signup](https://medlibro.co/signup).
2. Type your **First name** and your **Last name**.
3. Choose your **Sex**.
4. Type your **Email**.
5. Type a **Password** of at least 8 characters.
6. Type the same password in **Confirm the password**.
7. Select **Sign up**.

The **Phone number** field is optional.

MedLibro logs you in and sends a six-digit code to your address. Then you must [verify your email address](/en/getting-started/verify-your-email). You cannot open the rest of the app before you do this.

MedLibro does not ask for your year. See [Choose your year](/en/getting-started/choose-your-year).

## Choose the language of your account

Your account starts in the language of the form. To change the language before you sign up, select *Français* or *English* at the bottom of the page. You can [change it later](/en/account/language).

## Keep your username

MedLibro makes a username for you from your email address. You can log in with it or with your email address. To choose another username, see [Change your profile](/en/account/profile).

## If your address is already in use

MedLibro shows **The email address you entered is already in use. If you forgot your password, please reset it.** This means that the address already has an account.

- If the account is yours, [log in](/en/getting-started/log-in) or [reset your password](/en/getting-started/reset-your-password).
- If the address has a typing error, correct it and select **Sign up** again.
