# Use a phone or a computer

MedLibro opens in the browser of a phone, a tablet or a computer. You use the same account on each device, and you do not install anything.

The layout follows the width of the screen. A tablet can show the phone layout or the computer layout. So can a narrow window on a computer.

## Open the side menu

The side menu holds the pages of MedLibro, **New session** and your name.

- On a phone, select the menu button at the top left.
- On a computer, the side menu is always at the left of the screen.

## Search

- On a phone, select the magnifier at the top right.
- On a computer, select **Search** in the side menu, or press <kbd>Ctrl</kbd> <kbd>K</kbd>. On a Mac, press <kbd>⌘</kbd> <kbd>K</kbd>.

See [Search](/en/search).

## Use the keyboard

On a computer, press <kbd>?</kbd> to see the list of keyboard shortcuts. A shortcut needs a keyboard, so a phone has none.

## Use the full screen

The full screen button is at the top of the side menu. Some phones do not show this button, because their browser cannot do it.

## See what follows you between devices

These choices stay on your account, so each device shows them:

- your [language](/en/account/language)
- your [colour theme](/en/account/appearance)
- your [scoring rule](/en/account/scoring-rule)

Your light or dark mode stays on the device where you chose it. See [Change the appearance](/en/account/appearance).

If you log in on a new device, MedLibro can log you out on another device. See [Log in on another device](/en/getting-started/log-in#another-device).
