# Starter

Starter is the free plan. Every account has it, so you have nothing to activate and nothing to pay. It has no time limit.

## What is free

Starter opens the whole 1st year, whatever year you study. You get every MCQ and every clinical case of the 1st year, with every feature:

- [sessions](/en/sessions)
- [Memorix](/en/memorix)
- [playlists](/en/playlists)
- the [Notebook](/en/notebook)
- highlights and statistics

To see what the 1st year contains, open the [Pricing](https://medlibro.co/pricing) page. On the **Starter** card, select **See the 1st year contents**.

## What is locked

The 2nd to the 6th year and the residency are locked on Starter. In the session form, these years and their modules show a lock. You can still choose them, and their questions open as previews. [Locked questions and sessions](/en/plans/locked-content) shows what you see.

To open these years, you need [Premium or a year plan](/en/plans/premium).

## If you had a paid plan

When a paid plan ends, you are on Starter again. Your work stays on your account. [When a plan ends](/en/plans/when-a-plan-ends) says what you can still open.
