# Playlists and your plan

Playlists are part of every plan, Starter included. Your plan decides what you can add and what you can play.

## With Starter

You can create playlists, and add the questions and the clinical cases that Starter opens. You play only those items.

A playlist can also hold items that Starter does not open, for example items from an earlier plan. MedLibro then shows these signs:

- The playlist shows a lock with the number of these items.
- In the playlist, a line says how many items are for subscribers, with **See the plans**.
- Your progress and your score count only the items that you can open.

If Starter opens no item of a playlist, you cannot select **Start** or **Explore**.

## With a paid plan

Premium and a year plan work the same way here. You play all the items that your playlists hold, also items from years that your plan does not cover.

To add a new item, your plan must open it. If your plan does not open it, the tick does not stay on the playlist.

## When a plan ends

MedLibro keeps all your playlists and all their items. The items that Starter does not open wait behind the lock. They come back when you subscribe again, with Premium or with a year plan. If another paid plan stays active, nothing changes.

[Plans](/en/plans) says what each plan opens.
