# Find a module, a course or an exam

The search shows your department's years, its modules, and their courses and exams. Move through them, or type a name. Select a result and it opens at once.

## Move through your years

The search shows one level at a time: your years, then a year's modules, then a module's courses and exams. The highlight starts on your own year, unless **Recent** shows above it.

| On a computer | On a phone | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| <kbd>↑</kbd> and <kbd>↓</kbd> | Scroll the list | Moves through the rows. |
| <kbd>Enter</kbd> | Select the row | Opens a module, a course or an exam. Shows what a year holds. |
| <kbd>Tab</kbd> | Select the chevron at the end of the row | Shows what a year or a module holds. |
| <kbd>Backspace</kbd> in an empty field | Select the back arrow | Goes up one level. |

In a year or a module, the field says where it searches, such as *Search in Cardiologie…*. On a computer, the path shows at the start of the field. Select a part of it to go back to that level.

## Type a name

Type the start of each word. You can leave out the accents and the capitals. MedLibro searches the level that you are on, and everything under it.

- *cardio* finds Cardiologie, with its courses and its exams.
- *genet* finds Génétique.
- *emd 1 2023* finds that exam in each module.
- *cardio emd 1 2023* finds that exam of Cardiologie.

A smaller line under each result says what it is and where it sits, such as *Module · 4th year*. Bold letters show what matched.

## What a result opens

- A module opens with all its questions and clinical cases, from every exam year.
- A course opens with the questions and clinical cases of that course.
- An exam opens on that exam alone.

Each one opens as a [temporary session](/en/sessions/temporary-sessions). If you already have a session with exactly that selection, that session opens where you stopped.

## Find the residency

The residency lists its exams first, one for each year, such as *Residency 2021*. Then it lists its units, and the modules outside a unit. An exam opens the whole residency of that year. A unit shows its modules, and a module shows its courses.

## Search another department

Your plan opens its years in every department. If more than one department has content, the search shows the name of the department at the bottom left. On a phone, it is in a bar at the bottom of the search.

Select the name, then choose another department. The search then shows the years of that department. Typing searches that department too.

## Open a year outside your plan

A year that your plan does not cover shows a lock on its rows. You can still open them. You see what the session holds and how to open it. See [A session with a lock](/en/sessions/manage-your-sessions#a-session-with-a-lock).
