# Search

The search box opens a module, a course or an exam at once, with no form to fill in. It also takes you to any page, finds your own sessions and playlists, and runs a few actions.

<a id="open-the-search"></a>
## Open the search

- On a computer, press <kbd>Ctrl</kbd> <kbd>K</kbd> on any page, or <kbd>⌘</kbd> <kbd>K</kbd> on a Mac. This also works in a session, and while you type in a field. You can also select **Search** at the top of the menu on the left.
- On a phone, select the magnifier at the right of the top bar. The search opens as a sheet from the bottom of the screen.

The magnifier is not in the top bar of a session. To search on a phone, leave the session first.

To close the search, press <kbd>Esc</kbd> on a computer. On a phone, select the cross, or swipe the sheet down.

## What the search finds

Type the start of a word. Here are some examples.

| You type | You find |
|---|---|
| *cardio* | The module Cardiologie, with its courses and its exams. |
| *emd 1 2023* | That exam in each module. |
| *cardio emd 1 2023* | That exam of the module Cardiologie. |
| *mem* | The **Memorix** page. |
| Two letters of a session's title | That session. |
| *new* | **New session** and **New playlist**. |
| *dark* | **Dark mode**. |
